The author notices a number of similar grants, spurious and genuine and tries to disentangle the web of Ganga chronology which has been baffling two generations of scholars. The mint of this essay is that it marshals the known facts and provides fresh arguments.

Early Gangas of Talakad
The Aryan Path
December 1952.
In this monograph the author professes to reconstruct the history of the Gangas early dynasty from 300 to 600 A.D. Besides giving an up to date list of epigraphic records of the dynasty, he has published here for the first time the Hebbata Grant of Durvinita Ganga. The learned author has shown remarkable erudition in determining the genealogy of the dynasty, which has been a highly controversial topic. A synchronistic table at the end substantially adds to the value of the book.
