Showcased here are photographs of various functions and symposiums held in honour of Dr S. Srikanta Sastri over the last few decades.
In recognition of his lifetime contribution to world of history and historical research, University of Mysore felicitated S. Srikanta Sastri in 1973 and presented him with a collection of articles and essays by eminent historians - a festschrift volume titled "Srikanthika'. In 1989, Dr S. Srikanta Sastri’s “Geopolitics of India and Greater India” – originally written in 1943 was formally published and released subsequently in 1990 at The Daly memorial hall, Bangalore. The event was arranged by Mythic Society. To see more photographs, Click here.
In 1993, The South Indian Numismatics Association arranged a seminar on Numismatics and prominent contributions to field of archaeology and history by eminent Indian historians. Dr S. Srikanta Sastri was featured extensively and his vast contributions were remembered and discussed in a contemporary light. To see more photographs, Click here.
In 2004, to mark the hundredth birth anniversary of Dr S. Srikanta Sastri, Mythic Society, Bangalore arranged a symposium inviting eminent historians, archaeologists and former students of S. Srikanta Sastri to deliver papers in their respective fields. This two day event was extensively covered in the print and electronic media and a Centenary Commemorative Volume was brought out in his honour. To see more photographs, Click here.
In 1972, the then Governor of Karnataka – Mohanlal Sukadia honoured Dr S. Srikanta Sastri for a lifetime contribution to History and Teaching. Having suffered a debilitating paralytic stroke, he had great difficulty in attending the function and did so with admirable energy.
